At the recent Food Town Initiative AGM it was agreed the annual Food Town Day would continue to be on the bank holiday weekend of the 28th May.
Plans are being proposed to have an even larger event this year involving all sectors of the Town & Community.
Savour ther Flavour of Dumfries & Galloway Food/Drink producers have pledged thier support for a Marquee to be full of thier products and many businesses will be supporting this.
The Food Town Initiative will be asking all the businesses in the town to find a way of contributing to a interesting and fun day for locals and visitors alike. The Food Town is a Unique Shopping Experinece and it is planned to develop this feature on Food Town Day.Local schools will be invited to take part on the day and the local primary school are already preparing thier theme for the day.
Old favourites like the Jazz/Beer festival will be taking place in the Sulwath Brewery and there will be street entertainment and many more attractions for the whole family.
