Local produce markets to be held in Food Town on the 4th Saturday of each month

The Food Town Initiative is pleased to advise that regular local food & drink producers markets will be held in Castle Douglas on the 4th  Saturday of each month starting from February

.

These markets are being organised with the cooperation of a group of artisan local food producers who wish to offer their quality products to the general public via a regular market in the Town.

The producers will be offering products such as smoked fish and game as well as local grown in season vegetables, and specialist cuts of organic meats such as pork and lamb as well as some more different meats from Highland and Dexter cattle grassing in fields in and around Castle Douglas. Other local produce will be  cakes,scones, preserves, locally produced cream fudge, free range duck and chicken eggs, free range poultry and many more tasty local produce.

The Food Town Initaitive hope this regular market will be established as a monthly event and benefit all the businesses in the Town. They are expected to  attract extra visitors from off the A75  traveling through the area. Some may have not stopped off before in our wonderful market town with that "Unique Shopping Experience."
